About Dr. Richardson

Angela Richardson, MD, PhD, is an assistant professor of neurological surgery at Indiana University Health who specializes in skull base tumors and cerebrovascular diseases. Dr. Richardson is also a physician-scientist; she pioneered an independent research laboratory at IU Health focusing on gene therapy and oncolytic virotherapy strategies for the treatment of adult and pediatric brain tumors. She holds additional appointments in the department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology.

After completing her neurosurgery residency program and surgical neuro-oncology fellowship at the University of Miami, she recently finished a cerebrovascular and skull base fellowship at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Dr. Richardson received her undergraduate degree from Columbia University and her combined medical and doctoral degrees (MD/PhD) in molecular cell biology and genetics from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia.

Fun fact about Dr. Richardson - she taught English in Japan for 1 year during her undergraduate years and actively enjoys hiking, running and martial arts.
